Concocted Chaos

“Conspiracy theory is the ultimate refuge of the powerless. If you cannot change your own life, it must be that some greater force controls the world.”

Roger Cohen – American journalist

“We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis.”

David Rockefeller — American banker

“I’ve come to see conspiracy theories as the refuge of those who have lost their natural curiosity and ability to cope with change.”

Kathleen Norris — American novelist

“You simply cannot invent any conspiracy theory so ridiculous and obviously satirical that some people somewhere don’t already believe it.”

Robert Anton Wilson – American Author

Concocted Chaos

Concocted chaos has become the new radical right’s starting point. Throw out baseless accusations, ride the wave of those accusations until there is little traction left. Then create new outlandish charges with no evidence to support the claims. Rile the people into a frenzy of distrust bordering on hate and see what happens. This, my friends, is not the America I grew up in nor that I recognize anymore. I am saddened by this new reality. The only thing that brings me hope is that in the past, similar conditions have burned themselves out. Yet, what bothers me is that the cycle is broken most often by internal armed conflict. Perhaps we can avoid that outcome this time around.

In the ongoing drama of American politics, a new conspiracy theory has emerged. Revealing a calculated effort by the radical right-wing to undermine the federal prosecution of former President Donald J. Trump. At the center of this orchestrated chaos is Jack Smith, the special counsel leading the case against Trump for his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election and mishandle classified documents.

Concocted Chaos: The Unraveling Conspiracy

A concoction of wild narratives, promoted by fringe right-wing figures and even Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, aims to paint Jack Smith as a corrupt actor involved in a multimillion-dollar extortion scheme during his tenure as the chief prosecutor investigating war crimes in Kosovo. This baseless narrative has found its way from obscure corners of the internet to more mainstream conservative media.

Concocted Chaos: Genesis of the Scheme

The genesis of this elaborate scheme lies in a whistleblower complaint submitted by John Moynihan. A former DEA official with a history of involvement in questionable endeavors. Moynihan’s track record includes unproven allegations against the Clinton Foundation, indicating a pattern of using dubious claims for political motives.

The Dubious Accuser: Halit Sahitaj

Central to the conspiracy is Halit Sahitaj, a Kosovo businessman with a questionable background. Arrested multiple times for extortion and money laundering. Sahitaj’s fantastical account, claiming involvement with the CIA and accusing Smith of orchestrating an extortion ring, lacks credibility and raises eyebrows.

Concocted Chaos: A Familiar Playbook: Patrick Byrne and Company

Prominent figures in this disinformation campaign include Patrick Byrne, a vocal election denier with a history of spreading unfounded theories. Byrne, with a connection to Russian agent Maria Butina, has openly taken credit for launching Moynihan’s allegations against Smith. Thus, raising questions about the motives behind this orchestrated attack.

Concocted Chaos: Questionable Figures and Their Roles

Brian Della Rocca, representing Moynihan entangled in the Hunter Biden laptop saga. The lawyer’s involvement in multiple controversial cases adds to the murkiness surrounding the conspiracy. Additionally, the inclusion of controversial figures like Milaim Zeka, a Kosovo-born journalist with a history of legal troubles, further muddles the credibility of the allegations.

Political Motivations: Targeting Smith and Thwarting Justice

The timing of the conspiracy coincides with Smith’s indictment of Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi, a move that irked Trump and his allies. Allegations that Smith’s actions stood politically motivated, echoed by Trump loyalist Ric Grenell, suggest an attempt to thwart justice by discrediting the prosecutor.

Conclusion: Unmasking the Conspiracy

This latest attempt by the radical right to tarnish Jack Smith and delegitimize the federal prosecution of Trump mirrors past efforts to manipulate narratives for political gain. The elaborate scheme, rooted in dubious characters and unfounded accusations, underscores the urgent need for safeguards against the abuse of disinformation in the pursuit of political objectives.

As this orchestrated chaos unfolds, it is imperative to demand accountability for those peddling baseless narratives. The potential manipulation of public opinion and the erosion of trust in institutions highlight the necessity for legal measures to counter disinformation campaigns to subvert justice and destabilize the nation. It’s time to address this threat to democracy and safeguard the integrity of our legal processes.

One may persuade, argue for a different point of view, or toss out something that has not been discussed so long as the tone remains part of a civil discussion. Only then can we find common ground and meaningful democratic change.

Often, when facing a lawsuit, and he did face many, his mode of operation was to weigh down the opponent with constant motions, and demands for discovery, all to cause the opponent to bleed money and finally withdraw. This strategy served him well when the opposition was an individual or business with limited access to funding his unfounded or unnecessary legal assaults. […]
